2020 TEAM BRIA

Sean Howard is from Ringoes, NJ, the Captain of Team Bria, and 991 rated! He took 45th in his first NT event in Delaware in 2019, and cashed in all other events he entered. In 2019 he hosted the USAMPC both singles and doubles in NJ. You’ll find Sean at most courses with his pup, Piper. His favorite discs are McPro Roc3s. Sean’s goals for 2020 is to improve to 1000 rated disc golfer and give back to the AM DG community by running clinics, volunteering and hosting events.

Prior to last March, it had been over 3 years since Ohn Scoggins played disc golf. This year she is going on tour and aiming to play her best year of disc golf! Ohn is excited to be on Team Innova and the Bria Elite Team and is looking to shake up the FPO ranks! 

Robert Veliky is a Professional Player from Northern New Jersey.  Steadily improving over the past few years, Robert is poised for big things in 2020 representing the Bria Elite Team!!

Erik Cistaro is a professional player from the SJDGC. Erik’s disc golf journey began only three years ago as he was taking a break from the Philadelphia music scene. Erik is currently serving as the Vice President of the SJDGC, was elected as the 2018 Volunteer of the Year, organizes volunteer days, has been the volunteer coordinator for several prominent events. Erik is honored and humbled to represent Team Bria in all aspects of the sport.

Eric Moul is a freshly minted MPO player out of Central PA. He made the jump from the amateur divisions in 2019 and hasn’t looked back, taking down his first professional victory within the first few months of MPO. His goals for 2020 include to cash at every event and to take at least 3 more pro victories!

Jacob Liss is Junior Disc Golfer from Cranford, NJ. Jacob found disc golf almost 3 years ago on a camping trip at Hickory Run State Park. Jacob helped run a two week youth rec program over the summer teaching Ultimate players disc golf and is doing the same in the fall. Jacob is also sponsored by Discraft Underground and Kids Disc Golf. His goals for the 2021 season are to get to a 935 rating, play in the MA1 division, and grow the sport!

Starting in late 2019, Andrew Stocklin has devoted his days to practicing any time he can. By watching his favorite players compete he has quickly fallen in love with the sport and strives to improve his technique. Andrew works to grow the sport through his Youtube channel and by hosting events to introduce new players to the game. His faith plays a big part in how dedicated and passionate he is about disc golf and all aspects of his life. He is honored that to be on Team BRIA this year and hopes to bring more young people to the sport while improving his PDGA rating by playing in as many events as possible.

Kevin Gleason has committed over 30 years of his life to playing Disc Golf. His passion is for helping new players improve their game and to grow the sport across the country. He was recently elected Maryland PDGA State Coordinator for 2020 and has been on Team Latitude 64 since 2019. He plays or runs approximately 30 sanctioned events on the east coast every year all the way from New Jersey to Georgia.

While living in California, Danny Lyons discovered disc golf in 2014 at age 31. He moved back to NJ a year later and started playing consistently and competitively in 2016. Danny has always been an artist and even painted a disc before he threw one. He is looking to design more in 2020 as well as continue his own disc golf journey by playing new courses and honing his skills in the sport we all love.

Nyle Vinciquarra was introduced to disc golf in 2016. Since then, he has fallen in love with the sport. Whether it's playing a tournament, helping run various events, playing the occasional casual round, or helping out on work days, he is always on the course. Nyle's goals for 2020 are to continually improve his rating and focus on the consistency of his game.

Favorite Disc: Dynamic Discs Lucid Trespass

Shea Stevens is a MA1 player who is looking to grow his own game and the sport. After stumbling upon disc golf in college, he played casually until he learned about tournaments and the addiction took complete hold. In addition to serving on the board of his club, he will be running a Winter Marksman League and other events while racing Elaine King to get to a 950 player rating!

Favorite Disc: Axiom Envy

Anthony Sapichino is a MA1 player and captain of the Wolf Hill disc golf team for the NJ Team Challenge. A former semi-pro ultimate player, Anthony has been around disc sports for 10 years, being in a leadership role many times. He hopes to benefit the Bria Street Team with his experience. He plans to spend this year working on clinics and with youth to expand disc golf, and also notch a win!

Favorite Disc: Streamline Proton Trace

Dave Heckman has come a long way since his first rounds using only a putter 4 years ago when a friend brought him out to play. Having already achieved his goal of becoming a sponsored player, he plans to play more open tournaments, and influence younger players as well. His goals in 2020 are to be a 970 player and to play more A-tier events.

Whether playing, spectating, caddying, or spotting, Dave takes his camera to every round he can, growing the sport by showing the sport. And when he's not capturing memories, he's making them. With crazy rollers, gaudy pants, and that giant Zephyr, he's on an unending quest to have the most fun. Dave Cox strives to be a beacon of positivity and creativity. Par is just a number. Hyzer is just an option.

Anne Reese began playing disc golf in 2014. Anne has been on the Board of Directors for Sedgley Woods Disc Golf in Philadelphia for the past 5 years. She spends her free time helping maintain the course, promoting events, and helping grow the sport by sponsoring other female disc golfers at events both locally and nationally . She is excited to be joining Bria's Street Team for 2020 disc golf season!

Favorite Disc: Discmania P2

2020 will be Glenn Guadagnini's fourth year of playing and third year of tournament play. As a 2019-2020 Bria Street Team member Glenn is involved in reaching a broader market of advertising for Disc Golf by getting local and corporate business involved in tournament sponsorship. He will be working to get the younger generation introduce to the sport by working with schools and summer camps.

John Birkrem was first introduced to disc golf in 1996. In 2007 when John went to his first Am Worlds without earning an invite and it was then he realized it was more important to play as much disc golf in as many tournaments as you wanted to, regardless of how well you do or not play. His goals are simple: Play disc golf in all 50 states, including a PDGA sanctioned tourney in each.

Discraft X-Stratus

Chris Burch has been a member of Mercer County Disc Golf Club for 4 years. He travels hours to support charity events, volunteers numerous hours of hard labor to improve courses and helps run local club events. During the winter months he helps run a glow league because cold weather doesn't stop him from playing. His goals 2020 are to win his first MA2 tournament and get his rating to 900.

Favorite Disc: MVP Fission Photon (PFN)

Meg Collins started playing disc golf in 2013 as a way to spend time with her dad. She is now one of the directors of The Ladies of LIDG, the first women's disc golf league on Long Island. Together, they have grown the sport tremendously among women in the area. Meg's goal for 2020 is to continue to grow the sport as a member of the Bria Steet Team and spread the word & share our love of the game.

Matt Pappas is one of those players that wants everyone to succeed. Be they new or experienced players, Matt loves helping others enjoy the game. Matt started playing 20 years ago, and never lost the love of a flying disc. He'll be at it again in 2020 competing at the pro level, running events, and making your tournament experience one to remember!

Favorite Disc: Innova Star Spider

Joe "Apples" Appaluccio is a North Jersey resident who spends most of his disc golf time playing and staying highly involved on all the courses in the Skylands area. He is a 6 year member of the Skylands Flying Disc Club. Joe Apples is a high level amateur player who plans on working towards the pro level in the next year or so. His favorite courses are Fox Run Meadows and Brewster Ridge in VT.

Favorite Disc: Innova 11x KC Pro Roc

Rodney Francis is an amateur disc golfer an a member of the SJDGC Woodpeckers. Rodney has also gained famed by retrieving hundreds of discs from the pond at Stafford Woods and reuniting them with their owners. In 2020 he will continue to work diligently to attend more events and tournaments while continuing his volunteer efforts as a proud representative of the Bria Street Team.

Favorite Disc: MVP Catalyst

Despite having no courses to really call her home, Andi Romansky has persisted and made a name for herself in the disc golf world. She has played over 100 courses in the US and a few overseas. Andi loves meeting new discs golfers and tries especially to encourage more female players to take up the sport. Her goals for 2020 are to be contender in every event she plays and to try to bring disc golf to NYC.

Favorite Disc: Latitude 64 Flow

Bobby McNamara has served as the captain of the Mercer County NJ Team Challenge Team and is an active member of the Mercer County Disc Golf Club. He approaches the game with great enthusiasm and is always a great card mate. He looks forward to playing events in 2020, caddying for the team captain, Sean Howard, and continuing to promote the sport whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Favorite Disc: Discmania D-Line FD

Disc golf is not a sport one would think of when talking about college sports, but it is on the rise at the collegiate level. Rob Duncan was able to take his knowledge of both being a TD as well as running a previous collegiate team to implement the Rowan University Disc Golf team. Some more personal goals of 2020 include improving his overall skills and traveling to new places to play events.

Favorite Disc: Legacy Pinnacle Outlaw

Alfonso Manzo showed dramatic improvement in 2019 by limiting his bag which forced him to really learn his discs and focus on form, resulting in more distance and accuracy. He has also been able to better shape his shots to navigate any challenge a course present him. His goals for 2020 are to win a tournament and increase his circle 1 putting percentage.

John Bennett is an avid volunteer when it comes to course maintenance and construction. He also serves as the Commissioner of The New Jersey Team Challenge. In 2020 he looks to continue growing the sport of disc golf as a member of the Bria Street Team.

Favorite Disc: Discraft ESP Undertaker

Kyra Hissner has been involced with disc golf for over 3 years. She has sponsored & volunteered at Eagles Wings Junior Summer Break Bash, as caddy & score keeper. In terms of her game she is most proud of the growth in distance with her putter shots, and is developing her forehand. For the 2020 season she hopes to support more youth events while trying to break an 800 rating.

Favorite Disc: Dynamic Discs Prime Deputy

Arlene "Condor" Gurka found Disc Golf 7 years ago when she played at the American Legion course in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. Since that day she was hooked and found herself playing weekly! Her goals for 2020 are to get more women involved as she often sees many walking along their spouse or significant other, but never playing. Arlene is also known for baking cookies for many local events!
